Turkish Biologists Association   Open Call from Members

Biologists are scientists who take part in all processes related to life and who, when considered in the historical process, have made and contributed to important scientific developments. Biologists, who are at the forefront of professional occupational groups in developed countries, unfortunately do not see the necessary importance in our country and fall into the position of unemployed and potentially unemployed. In order to cover all areas concerning vitality, in academia, R&D units, agriculture, forest, health, environment, food, industry, medicine, cosmetics, biotechnology, etc. The professional fields of biologists, who have active roles in many sectors, are limited.

"Biologist", which has been officially a professional title since 1933 in our country, is far behind international norms in terms of professional rights, status and scientific opportunities, despite the 86 years that have passed. The Turkish Biologists Association, which was established in 1975 against these injustices, is headquartered in Izmir and currently has 9 branches. The current President of the Association is Expert Biologist İhsan Soytemiz. Since its establishment, the association has carried out many studies to protect our professional rights and has struggled to protect our professional rights, especially in recent years. Most recently, he has been working on the Law of Biologists with our other Professional organization.

Today, there is a great movement for our professional rights against the decrease in the support of the professional members to our association. Today, to take an active role in the defense of the rights of our professional group, to regain the employment fields we lost as biologists, to ensure that a sufficient number of biologists are employed in these fields, to create a scientific discipline. Our aims are to ensure that biology sees the necessary value and importance in our country, to remove the obstacles to the application of our expertise in solving biological problems across the country, to encourage scientific research and scientific cooperation, and to restructure the association in line with plans and strategies that include the support of other basic scientists and other relevant professional groups.

The highlights of the works planned to be carried out are as follows:

Increasing the number of members by communicating with the Heads of Departments of the student representatives,
Strengthening association branches and opening new branches,
Negotiations with the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Ministries and YÖK in order to obtain the fields of study that we are entitled to, carrying out studies for the employment of biologists with İŞKUR, the establishment of the biologists chamber and the adoption and publication of our professional law, conducting chamber studies with other basic sciences such as Chemistry and Physics, and/ Establishing a federative scientific organization/organization, accreditation of biology and molecular biology and genetics departments, organizing activities such as projects, publications or meetings with biology content, trainings with academicians, ensuring the unity of colleagues,
Opening a research area for the neglected biological resources and problems of the country, carrying out the missing observations and researches, carrying out the title and field studies with YÖK, conducting studies to gain employment in health institutions such as TUS and medical laboratories, becoming an academician by receiving postgraduate education in the basic sciences of medical faculties. Ensuring work to overcome the difficulties in the path of
Making scientific projects by utilizing the support given on the basis of associations, with TUBITAK or other scientific institutions and ministries. Immediate relief of resentment, hopelessness and grievances of many people, including biologists and their families,  Responsible directorates should be regulated as they deserve, including reinstatement of employment rights in their own fields. In this context, we are planning to establish a professional organization with the support of respected biologists who have made great contributions and efforts to the science of biology both in our association and in our country, and to bring our association to the dynamism it needs again.

We need to be together to realize all these plans, projects and studies. In order to support each other, we can make the most important contribution by becoming a member of our association. This is the first contribution we will make to our profession and association as biologists. We invite all biologists to work together to do all the studies we mentioned. Joint time planning will be made to suit everyone who wants to support the work that needs to be done. To ensure that professional rights comply with international standards, solve national biological problems and protect our country's biological wealth.
OUR MISSION is to produce biological projects and to support studies, to contribute to the scientific world by making studies in parallel with the developments in the world, to ensure integration, to benefit from these developments at the national level, to protect the professional honor and rights of biologists, to ensure proper employment by taking into account our national interests, and to provide personal rights in return for their work. to work towards making it suitable.
